Depending on where you go, an oil change with synthetic oil may be twice as expensive as an oil change with standard oil. There have to be benefits otherwise people wouldn’t get synthetic oil, right? Well, to put it simply, synthetic oil is much cleaner and better for your engine than conventional oil. Both oils come from the ground, but synthetic oil gets distilled and refined, making for a much cleaner product. Why does it matter if it’s cleaner? Well, synthetic oil allows your engine to run smoother and more efficiently. It also offers greater protection against extreme heat and cold. Basically, the only downfall is that it is significantly more expensive, but any auto technician will tell you that it is worth the price. Additionally, vehicles with synthetic oil don’t need to have their oil changed as often. We recommend about once every 5,000-6.000 miles compared to 3,000 miles or so for conventional oil cars.
