Fall is officially in full swing, and cooler weather temperatures have started to settle in. We cannot get over how quickly fall arrived. It feels like just yesterday we were getting ready for warm weather and being outside with friends and family. We wanted to give you a guide to help you get your vehicle ready for winter 2020. Before we jump into our tips for getting your vehicle ready for winter, we wanted to first say that you should always read and follow your owner’s manual and follow its recommended service schedules. Regular maintenance will help keep your vehicle running well longer.

We realize that low temperatures do not happen often in Arizona, but if you see that it is going to be cooler than normal, it will not hurt to add a bottle of fuel deicer. This will help keep moisture from freezing in your fuel lines. Other fluids that should be checked and possibly changed include oil and the cooling system.

Change out the various filters and other essential parts

It is important to change out various filters to help your engine continue to run smoothly. Some of the filters you should look at and possibly change include the air, fuel, and PCV filters. Other components of your vehicle that you should look at include the battery, windshield wiper blades, heater and defroster, tires, and transmission. Do not forget about creating a small emergency kit in case of inclement weather. Items to put in this kit include water, blankets, snacks, flashlights, batteries, etc.
